From Stone Age stones and shells worn around the neck, to amulets and talismans gracing the necklines of Ancient Greeks and Romans, the history of wearing pendants dates back thousands, if not millions, of years, and the design of these pendants is as diverse as the wearers themselves.
In that time-honoured tradition, here at Rebus we have created a beautiful collection of pendants that provide the ideal blank canvas upon which to create a bespoke engraving. Each pendant is fully customisable, from face size to chain length, from setting stones to personalised engraving.
Here’s how to create your perfect pendant; a strikingly contemporary piece of jewellery, steeped in heritage, and unwaveringly unique.
Our two bestsellers - the Oval and the Round pendant - come in two sizes, large or small. When choosing a face size, consider what you might want for your design. Smaller pendants are the perfect canvas for simpler motifs like crests and monograms, while pendants with larger faces allow for more complex, engraving designs.
Rebus pendants are entirely unisex, but chain length is an important consideration when thinking about where the pendant will sit on the neckline. With five lengths to chose from, we often find that 18/20” is most popular for women, while the longer 22” is most popular with men.
To create a truly unique pendant, you can use your own design or work closely with Rebus craftsmen and women to bring an idea to life. Engravings - often surface engraved - range from simple designs through to complex, symbolic illustrations, and our team of master engravers are with you every step of the way.
For the ultimate in bespoke design, you can choose to add a secret personal message on the back of the pendant for that extra special touch, or choose from a range of beautiful setting stones to offset your piece perfectly.
Each pendant is timeless in style and shape, a handcrafted heirloom to be worn as a standalone piece or layered for that everyday, yet extraordinary, look.
